Why I built it
I’m the kind of person who starts a countdown the moment a trip gets booked. There’s a real little joy in watching the days tick down to something you’re excited about - a holiday, a concert, or any special event.
But every countdown app I tried was stuffed with ads and pop-ups, or wanted me to make an account, or some pay wall just to count down to my own vacation. So I built the one I actually wanted: clean, calm, no ads, no tracking - just you and the moments you’re looking forward to, with widgets (also in the lock screen) and more.

How do I create a countdown?
Tap the + in the top corner, give your event a title, pick a date (and optionally a time), choose an emoji and color, then Save.
How do I add a widget?
Touch and hold an empty area of your Home Screen, tap the + in the top corner, search for Until Then, choose a size, and add it. Lock Screen widgets are added from the Lock Screen’s customize screen.
How do I choose which event a widget shows?
Touch and hold the widget, tap Edit Widget, and pick the event. You can also long-press an event in the app and choose Show in Widget to set a default.
My reminders aren't showing up.
Make sure notifications are allowed: iOS Settings → Apps → Until Then → Notifications. You can add as many alerts as you like per event (e.g. 2 weeks, 3 days, 1 hour before) in the event editor.
How do I sync events across my devices?
Open Settings inside the app and turn on iCloud Sync. Every device must be signed in to the same Apple Account. (Photos you attach stay on each device.)
What's the Live Activity option?
Your soonest event shows a live countdown on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island as it gets close. In Settings you can choose how far ahead it starts (1 hour to 1 day) and turn on a notification that tells you when it’s starting - tap it to open the app and begin the live countdown (an app can’t start one on its own). You can also turn the Live Activity off for individual events in the event editor.
Does the app have ads or track me?
No. No ads, no tracking, no accounts, and no locked features. See the Privacy Policy.
Will this work for macOS?
Yes, since you can install iOS apps on macOS - in the macOS AppStore in the search results switch from "Mac Apps" to "iPhone & iPad apps" and you should see Until Then. Then you can sync with iCloud or create any event you want and add widgets to the desktop etc.
