Why I built it

I kept typing the same things over and over - my email signature, the same canned replies, my address, little blocks of text I send all the time. Copy-pasting from notes was clumsy, and the text-replacement feature built into iOS was never quite enough.

So I built a tiny keyboard that just holds my snippets and drops them in with one tap, in any app. No retyping, no hunting through notes - and because it’s all stored on the device, it doesn’t need network access or “Full Access” to work. Simple, fast, and private by design.

Frequently asked questions

How do I insert a snippet?

In any text field, tap the 🌐 globe key to switch to the Quick Macro keyboard, then tap a tile to insert its text - no copy-paste needed.

How do I enable the keyboard?

Go to Settings → General → Keyboard → Keyboards → Add New Keyboard… and choose Quick Macro. Then tap the globe key in any app to switch to it.

Do I need to "Allow Full Access"?

No. Your snippets are shared with the keyboard through a private App Group container on your device, so the keyboard works without Full Access and needs no network access.

Can I organize my snippets?

Yes - group them into categories, drag to reorder snippets and categories, and rename or delete categories (with safe reassignment). The app has full-text search; the keyboard filters by tappable category chips.

Why can't I search from inside the keyboard?

A custom keyboard has no other keyboard to type a search into, so Quick Macro filters with one-tap category chips in the keyboard, while the main app gives you full free-text search.

How does iCloud sync work?

It’s optional and off by default. When you turn it on in Settings, your snippets sync across your devices through your own private iCloud account (Apple CloudKit). The developer has no servers and never sees your data. There’s a live status indicator and a manual Sync Now.

Does Quick Macro collect any data?

No. Everything is on-device, with no analytics, no ads and no third-party SDKs. See the Privacy Policy.
